September
Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro | September 16-18
This 3-day event will showcase the world’s top professional female surfers in the 15th annual Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro competition. This year’s event promises an exciting weekend filled with world-class surfing, competition that will astound you, and a festival village loaded with vendors, activities, and amazing entertainment. The event is free and held at the Oceanside Pier.
Bonitafest Performing Arts Festival | September 17
Celebrate the heritage and spirit of Bonita and Sweetwater Valley during this 50th anniversary festival! The South Bay’s premiere show choirs and stage bands will be performing. You have a chance to sample incredible delicacies, enjoy the arts and crafts, and take part in a day full of fun! All money benefits the Bonita Vista High School Vocal Music Department and Bonita Vista Middle School.
San Diego’s Wildest Tasting Event | September 17
Come out to support wildlife at the World-Famous San Diego Zoo. This one-of-a-kind tasting event features Southern California’s best food, wine and beer and includes live entertainment as well as dancing. This all-inclusive night must not be missed. It’s the tastiest way to support wildlife.
San Diego Restaurant Week | September 25-October 2
Presented by the California Restaurant Association, this annual event includes over 100 restaurants across more than 30 neighborhoods for eight days of dining. This is a time to indulge and support local restaurants. With prix-fixe pricing throughout the county, you can enjoy two-course lunches for $10, $15, $20, and $25 and three-course dinners for $20, $30, $40, and $50, depending on the restaurant’s price points. Menus for all participating restaurants are available in advance at SanDiegoRestaurantWeek.com. Be sure to make a reservation—they aren’t required, but highly recommended.

Del Mar International Horse Show | October 9-27
Former Olympic medalists and other elite athletes compete head to head for a spot in the World Cup Finals. Known for its incredible atmosphere and exciting competition, the Del Mar International Horse Show encompasses multiple weeks of world-class show jumping, which attracts a field of internationally recognized horses and riders. The Del Mar International Horse Show is part of the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League, hosting one of only seven World Cup Qualifiers on the West Coast of North America.
San Diego International Film Festival | October 19-23
The 21st Annual San Diego International Film Festival includes the return of the Opening Night Film Premiere & Reception, the Night of the Stars Tribute, Culinary Cinema, plus more in-person parties, panels and networking events. The opening night film is ARMAGEDDON TIME featuring Anthony Hopkins, Anne Hathaway and Jeremy Strong. Closing the festivities is EMPIRE OF LIGHT starring Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward and Colin Firth. USA Ultimate National Championships | October 20-23
Fans of frisbee will be delighted to know, the top 16 teams in Men's, Mixed, and Women's divisions from across the United States and Canada will compete for the USA Ultimate Championship in San Diego this Fall. Since the first Championships were played in 1979, Ultimate Frisbee has grown substantially in the more than 40 years since its inception. Get swept up in the fun this October.

San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival | November 9-13
Overlook sailboats and sandy beaches while you take part in one of the country’s most talked about weeks in food. The San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival features dozens of events, hundreds of domestic and international wineries, craft beer and spirits, local culinary legends, and nationally recognized celebrities. The final night’s event is a Grand Tasting Finale on the stunning Embarcadero. The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival was named the winner of the 2019 USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best General Food Festival.
Wonderfront Music and Arts Festival | November 18-20
Held in beautiful waterfront parks and piers, as well as in Seaport Village, and on a variety of boats all along the San Diego downtown waterfront, the Wonderfront Music and Arts Festival is a highly-anticipated 7+ stage, 80+ bands, 3-day music, culinary, and arts extravaganza. Water taxis, trolleys, yacht party concerts, and sunset cruises are all part of the experience. It integrates one of the most vibrant downtowns right into the Festival, with hotels, bars, restaurants, breweries, the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy all within steps of the gates—all festivities converging into one of the most unique festival destinations in the world! The festival offers diverse attractions including yacht parties, water sports, art installations, after-parties, a craft beer village and plenty of local flavors. Doggie Street Festival | November 19
The west’s largest adopt-a-thon and pet celebration returns with an adoption event bringing together the rescue community to create an unforgettable platform for increasing adoption and education on spay/neuter options. Attendees can also connect with veterinarians, pet professionals, trainers, health and nutrition experts. It’s a festive public celebration of companion animals that urges the public to act, advocate and work together to effect positive change and help end the tragedy that is pet homelessness.
